Can you shoot Snaros from a compound?
You damn skippy. Snaros from a compound is a legit option. I shot Snaros from a compound on a bogus moose hunt in 2008 and we bagged our legal limit every day. The 2 and 3 inch avoid more twigs to make killing shoots at birds on the ground, and the 6 inch work better in the air.
Weight bow and arrows for Snaros from a compound
3 inch Snaros will kill flying pheasant from a 50 lb compound with a 400 grain arrow, but you will need a 60 lb recurve with a 600 grain arrow to cleanly kill the same bird.
Arrow spine with Snaros from a compound
With recurves and longbows you seldom need to switch your arrow spine. The same is true from a compound as long as your arrow length is sufficient to let the wide diameter heads clear your sight bracket and housing. Overdraws will not work.
Snaros from a compound are a great option. Arrow loss is greatly diminished, and this may be the biggest reason you find people shooting Snaros from a compound.
