Snaro for whitetails?
Should you take a Snaro whitetail hunting? Absolutely! We don’t recommend that you actually try to take down a whitetail with a Snaro though. Chances are all you will do is turn that bruiser buck into a bruised and educated one. There are plenty of other reasons for taking a Snaro whitetail hunting.
I take a Snaro whitetail hunting every time I hit the woods. Like most of you I try to get well off the beaten path when placing my tree stand or ground blind. Most of the time my preferred spot is 3/4 mile or more from the closest road. I can’t tell you how many grouse I have seen while walking into my stand. Now that I carry a Snaro I have opportunities to harvest those birds. Most of us diehards have done the stumpshooting thing to help us with yardage estimation and to help us stay in tune with our equipment. It’s a good exercise, but grouse taste a helluva lot better than a stump and offer a more challenging exercise. I’ve never seen a stump outrun a grouse.
Take a Snaro whitetail hunting and maximize your time in the big woods. Most of us whitetail hunters also love bird hunting, but with seasons corresponding we put off the bird hunting until we fill our deer tag. I used to lament not being able to put all those grouse I saw on the dinner table but now I have the best of both worlds. I get the yardage exercise, I’m warmed up for the shot when the “big boy” strolls through, and if I don’t get to eat backstraps at least I can eat grouse. Take a Snaro whitetail hunting every time you go and find out how much fun you’ve been missing!
