Frank Addington Jr
I grew up watching Frank Addington Jr do some amazing things with a bow and arrow. Watching him make those amazing shots made me want to try some of those impossible shots myself. So I started practicing on aerial targets. No, I didn’t start out on lifesavers and aspirin out of the air. I started out on 2 liter bottles, hand thrown clays, foam discs and whatever else I could find for my kids to throw into the air for me.

It didn’t take me long to realize that Frank Addington Jr was a helluva lot more talented than I am, but ya know what? The more I shot, the closer I came to hitting those targets. I ordered a few 3″ Snaros from Snaro.net and believe it or not I started hitting those targets almost every time I shot.

With my Hoyt bow (Frank Addington Jr shot Hoyt almost exclusively) I went to Birdseye View in Wisconsin 906 221 0783 and tried chasing quail and chukar partridge with the bow. With my Johnny Flu-Flus and a Snaro I was even surprised at how many birds I was able to hit. In front of Carey’s pointing dog the birds held well on point, and though a bit more challenging than a hand thrown clay, the Hoyt was knockin’ em down. I wonder if Frank Addington Jr would be proud if he saw me take a bird in flight with my bow….
